Associated Professor at the School of Architecture, Art and Design (EAAD) University of Minho, has coordinated the courses of Geometry, Architectural History, Theories and Tratadistics (integrated master in Architecture), Geometry and Digital Representation (Bachelor degree in Design), Advanced Studies in Architectural Culture (Phd program in Architecture), having also participated in the course of Project II (integrated master in Architecture). Currently he is the Assistant director of Lab2PT, R&D unit (Landscapes, Heritage and Territory Laboratory), affiliated to IN2PAST (Associate Laboratory for Research and Innovation in Heritage, Arts, Sustainability and Territory), and member of the EAAD scientific council and school council. Until very recently held the positions of Vice-president of the School of Architecture, Art and Design (2018/2021) and President of the school pedagogical council. Holding a degree in Architecture (2002) and a Master degree in Methodologies of Intervention on Architectural Heritage (2006), with the thesis " Versatility and mutation of the public space at the consolidated city. Intervention methodologies", both granted by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP). Concluded his PhD at the EAAD (2015), with the research entitled Imaginary Architecture: Real and illusory space in portuguese baroque, that looked into architecture and perspective treatises searching for intersections between science and architectural design processes of imaginary architectures. His current research looks into architectural culture, moreover to architecture, geometry and perspective treatises searching for the intersections between the optical and geometrical science and architectural design, as well as theory and practice of spatial representation, namely through the production of cartographies and panoramas/vedute, consequent to expeditions and travelling. Departing from the field of Architectural Culture his scientific activity focus upon the modern period and the tools, acknowledge and procedures of spatial representation. According to this aim, geometrical and scientific knowledge, namely the developments of linear perspective, are taken into consideration since its projective qualities together with its pre-visualization potential, of either the idealized and constructed space, played an essential role in the processes of thinking, producing and representing space. Concerning his pedagogical and scientific activity organized exhibitions (Sundials, 2022); workshops (Tessellations, 2023; Folded Spaces, 2017); conferences (2D/3D. producing illusion, 2021; Nasoni, Mateus e a Música de seu tempo, 2018). Joined Scientific committees (Uncertain Landscapes 2023; Congress PHI 2021; TechNetEMPIRE: Redes, pessoas e instituições, 2020), presented communications (Learning through design problems. Geometry and architectural reasoning, 2023 - Applying Education in a Complex World; Pursuing the Portuguese path of Cosimo III. A diachronic overview of the territory, 2022 - Medici on the Road; Drawing the Territory and clamming boarders. Cartographic expeditions in southern Brazil in the middle of the 18th century, 2022 - Learning Spaces; Digital constraints and opportunities. Reorganizing teaching procedures in time of emergency, 2021 - Symposium LEARN[IN] II; The European Tour of Cosimo III of Medicis. An insight of the portuguese built environment through Pier Maria Baldis drawings, 2019 - Constructed Environment) and published articles (Sundials.
